About mindsound

Mindfulness

Mindsound offers professional mindfulness services in a variety of settings.  Founder Megan Hook has worked in corporations, schools, prisons, juvenile halls and beyond sharing her passion for mindfulness and present moment awareness and its capacity to create change and transformation.  Megan uses techniques both ancient and modern. She has been practicing and studying mindfulness and meditation for over twenty-five years in different sacred and secular traditions.  Her buddhist studies include Vipassana in the lineage of S.N. Goenka, Vietnamese Zen in the lineage of Thich Nhat Hanh, Rinzai Zen, and different Tibetan lineages including Dzogchen.


Megan currently facilitates sound baths, yoga nidra, and teaches mindfulness, meditation, and yoga on Insight Timer.  She has served on the Program and Impact team at Mindful Schools, an international leader in secular mindfulness education.  Megan trained as a Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA's MARC program within the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. Passionate about research and current neuroscience, Megan is well-versed in the science behind the mindfulness revolution.

Sound Bath and Sound Healing


Megan is a certified sound healer hosting sound baths virtually (during the pandemic) and in-person on the east coast (USA).  Megan comes to sound work as a professional musician with a degree in classical music.  She is a multi-instrumentalist and a singer/songwriter, fronting her band "The Bright Forever."  With a palette of beautiful tones, from crystal bowls to drums and gong, from the shruti box, tanpura and swarmandal to the human voice, Megan weaves a tapestry of healing vibration. Invoking sacred mantra as well as other musical traditions, from Mozart and the Beatles, Megan offers a truly unique experience to those seeking immersive sound bath and sound healing.

Megan is a certified Kundalini Yoga and Hatha Yoga teacher.  Her yoga classes include pranayama, asana, and meditation.  Megan is currently recording an album of sacred mantras.
